2009 Marathon - 18th-19th April
The 2009 marathon started at about 2.10pm on Saturday 18th April. There are 18 pairs (although some are playing with three players in a 'pair', as allowed by the conditions of the event, and one member is playing with a rotation of tournament directors!)
This year the event is divided into six sessions, with a Mitchell session being followed by a Howell to give an all-play-all movement, and then the entire movement being played three times over. This gives a total of 170 boards played by each pair - one of the largest numbers ever in this event.
Play is expected to finish about 2pm on Sunday.
