2007 Marathon - 17th-18th November
The 2007 marathon started at about 2.15pm on Saturday 18th November. There was an advance entry of 40 pairs (although some are playing with three players in a 'pair', as allowed by the conditions of the event), and in spite of a few last-minute adjustments, a total of 40 pairs are playing.
This year the event is divided into six sessions, each of 26 boards (13x2
board rounds), with the entire movement played twice over - 78x2-board rounds. This gives a total of 156 boards played by each pair - the same number as last year.
The sessions are scheduled to start at four-hour intervals, and play is expected to finish a bit before 2pm on Sunday.
