
Final results are now available.
The London Metropolitan Bridge Association is pleased to announce the details
of its most prestigious competition, the Lederer Memorial Trophy. The 2005
Lederer will be held on the weekend of 15th-16th October at the Young Chelsea
Bridge Club in London.
The Lederer is contested by eight invited teams from England and overseas.
It is sponsored by Bernard Teltscher, President of the LMBA, and hosted
by the Young Chelsea, to both of whom the LMBA has expressed gratitude for
their generosity.
There will be four 12-board matches on Saturday 15th from 1:00 pm to 8:15
pm and three matches on Sunday 16th from 1:00 pm to 6:15 pm. The play on
Sunday will be followed by a wine reception and the prize-giving ceremony.
There are no parking restrictions near the Young Chelsea on Sunday.
Once again there is a strong field, including some who will be competing
in the World Championships. The teams are expected to be:

Spectators
are welcome to come and watch play at the tables or on VuGraph. The entry
fees are £10 on Saturday (£6 after 4:00 pm), £8 on Sunday,
or £15 for the whole event. Students and senior citizens will be admitted
for half price and Young Chelsea members can watch for free! The VuGraph
match will be shown live on the Internet, hosted by Bridge Base Online.
A ‘Play with Stars’ parallel event for the Teltscher Cups will
be held at a number of local Bridge Clubs. Pairs will play the first 24
Lederer boards on the Saturday and then score up as teams-of-four with one
of the top Lederer pairs. The overall N-S and E-W winners will be invited
to meet their ‘team-mates’ and receive their prizes on the Sunday.
