Club Pairs Championship 2006
Games for this new event will take place on the last Thursday of every month during 2006 (3rd Thursday in December). They will run alongside and separately from the regular Thursday club game.
The first prize of £1000 will go to the pair with the best four scores
during that time. Scoring will be by matchpoints and there'll be no system
restrictions, so it'll be a rare opportunity to use (and encounter) methods
that are usually prohibited.
There will be prizes of £1000 and £500 for the top two pairs
as well as other spot prizes, and the winner will be the pair that has the
best average of their top four scores. To enter, you just need to turn up
on Thursday with a partner and play (you are allowed to enter more than
one partnership by playing with more than one partner). Table money is the
same as the Monday/Wednesday/Friday games - ie £7.00 for members,
£10.00 for non-members.
